Man missing in Tenerife found safe and well

An electrician who went missing after flying to Tenerife has been found safe.
Kris Finney, from Ramsbottom, near Bury, flew to the Canary Island on Thursday morning, 31 October. The 31-year-old, who works across Lancashire and Manchester, had been due to meet up with a friend on the Spanish island, but failed to get in contact with him or show up. He had spoken to his mum to confirm he had landed, but his family did not hear from him for more than three days following that phone call. The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) had confirmed it was aware of Kris’ disappearance. But in a positive update, his family confirmed he has been found safe. He has now spoken to his family, including aunt Debbie Kenyon, who had appealed for information about him.
When he was still missing, she had said: “He was supposed to meet up with his friend who is staying in a different hotel and never showed. We have phoned and sent texts that haven’t delivered.
“It was last night that we got the call from one of his friends saying nobody had heard from him for days. We’ve been trying to get hold of him and haven’t been able to – it’s not like Kris. “He may sometimes not contact you for 12 to 18 hours but then he always reaches out. There was nothing we could do at that time of night.”The British Consulate reportedly contacted various hospitals on the island. Debbie confirmed that a woman found Kris and lent him her phone to use after taking him to her shop, before he called his family. Kris had told his mum last Thursday that he had arrived in Tenerife, but his phone battery was low.An FCDO spokesperson said: “We are supporting the family of a British man reported missing in Spain and are in contact with the local authorities.”
